Jury verdict:
The jury recognises an innovation with genuine future potential: this biocide-free impregnation treatment enables, for the first time, effective moisture protection whilst ensuring that wooden windows are fully recyclable. Induline I-130 combines technical performance with consistent sustainability and makes an important contribution to resource conservation and circular construction processes. Particularly noteworthy is that a previously ‘invisible’ product component – the coating – becomes the driver of innovation here.
The following received a Special Mention:
- d-lev GmbH – Slim magnetic levitation sliding system (Hall 1, Stand 338)
- HEGLA GmbH & Co. KG – IG2Pieces (Hall 3A, Stand 103+104)
- SIEGENIA Group – SIEGENIA ALU XT (Hall 4, Stand 215)

The Innovation Award is a joint project between NürnbergMesse and AIT Dialog, with ift Rosenheim as the conceptual partner.
The jury consisted of:
Kristina Bacht (Publishing Director, AIT Dialog, Hamburg), Holger Dirks (Editor-in-Chief, GFF and sicht & sonnenschutz, Holzmann Medien), Waldemar Dörr (Managing Director, Fachverband Glas Fenster Fassade Baden-Württemberg), Andreas Ewert (Associate Director of Building Envelope Design, Arup), Prof. Dr. Winfried Heusler (Director of ift Rosenheim), Daniel Mund (Editor-in-Chief of GLASWELT, A. W. Gentner Verlag), Prof. Judith Reitz (Managing Partner and Professor at PBSA BFR LAB), Jan Rohwer (Managing Partner, Editorial Team at bauelemente bau), and Anke Rollenhagen (Head of the Façade Technology Team, Office Happold).
The structured work of the jury, the transparent evaluation process and the direct dialogue with exhibitors have demonstrated that the new award format is well-founded in terms of content and implemented in a practical manner. The diversity of the winning solutions in particular highlights just how varied the concept of innovation is today – ranging from material- and process-related approaches to systemic developments. The Innovation Award thus not only recognises outstanding achievements but also provides a clear direction for the professional debate on the future of the industry.
