About us

MENKE KUNSTSTOFFE GmbH & Co. KG is today one of the leading companies in the production of plastic profiles for the window and roller shutter industry.

The company was founded on November 1, 1969 by Alfred Menke as a sole proprietorship. A short time later, it was entered into the commercial register under the name MENKE KUNSTSTOFFE GmbH & Co. KG - as a purely family business - which it still is today.

The first roller shutter slats were produced and assembled with 25 employees and on 3 extrusion systems. In 1976, the Menke company brought its own window system onto the market. Even though plastic windows continued to grow in the 1980s, the “Menke” company responded to market demands for ever better installation options. In 1983, we began to develop assembly and profile systems and market them primarily through the building hardware trade, which ultimately led to the cessation of roller shutter and window production. Just 10 years later, almost 500 profiles and injection molded parts in all designs and shapes were produced. Due to the high growth rate, the premises had to be expanded further, so that Menke Kunststoffe now has a production area of ​​over 20,000 m².

Around 15,000 article variants or product versions are now produced with around 140 employees on over 30 extrusion lines, five injection molding and 5 foiling systems. Menke invested in new injection molding and foiling systems as well as its own mixing plant.

The product range, which ranges from flat strips to roller shutter guide rails to profiles for roller shutter top boxes, has been constantly developed and expanded. Other system groups such as balcony, fence, pergola, privacy screens and construction box systems round off the program.
