About the FVSB

The Fachverband Schloss- und Beschlagindustrie (FVSB) e. V. is the association of lock and hardware manufacturers in Germany and thus the nationwide representative body for companies in the industry. The association currently supports 69 member companies with around 25,000 employees and a turnover of over three billion euros.

The tasks of the FVSB include conducting dialogues for the member companies in various internal and external networks in order to exchange industry-relevant information and positions. The association also represents the interests of member companies in connection with the standardisation of products, design and implementation of relevant laws and regulations at national and international level. Furthermore, the FVSB supports its members in various current and future tasks, such as sustainability, digitalisation and IT security, and supplements the internal dialogue by involving and supporting recognised experts.

The association helps shape the international interests of its member companies through its membership in ARGE, the European association of lock and hardware manufacturers. The testing institute (www.piv-velbert.de), which is networked with the trade association and belongs to the Gütegemeinschaft Schlösser und Beschläge e. V. (Quality Association for Locks and Fittings), provides advice on practical tests and many years of testing experience.
