The REX cylinder is a revolutionary novelty in the segment of fingerprint readers. Mountable in any left or right door featuring a Euro profile door lock, it combines a cylinder lock with a fingerprint reader. It is powered by two AA 1.5V batteries, but it also allows for emergency power supply from the outside, should the batteries go completely empty. The expected battery life is at least 12 months with normal use. The REX cylinder can be programmed with help of an enclosed remote control which can also be used for unlocking.
