One system for all requirements
Bogen, February 2020. Deceuninck Germany GmbH has established its PROtex 2.0 roller shutter system on the European market: In addition to simplified mounting of the box and installation on the window , particular focus was also placed on an innovative concealed and statics solution for brackets and centre bearings. The innovative system with optional patented clip connection enables quick and simple air-tight installation as standard.
PROtex 2.0 not only impresses with its new design, the unique assembly concept and improved airtightness is also very interesting: The optional time-saving, patented clip system requires absolutely no screws, which reduces installation time considerably. The profiles of the box are connected with the consoles through recesses that can be punched or simply integrated in machining centres. This reduces the amount of work involved considerably.
As standard, the PROtex 2.0 system joins the components so that they are airtight. Energy-efficient homes are possible with no additional measures, such as sealing pads or silicone. The gasket that is injected around the console, which is applied with a foaming system directly during the production process, and other gaskets between the profiles guarantee the highest level of airtightness as standard.
A particular focus was also placed on installing the box on the window element. The new system is now only clipped on – and can therefore also be installed flexibly on standing elements. This simplifies installation on building sites without having to turn the window element.
A completely new feature is the possibility for static absorption of wind loads via the centre bearing. As a result, the additional use of static brackets with split box elements is unnecessary within a calculated element width. The optional static centre bearing can be integrated during box installation with no additional effort. For a professional connection there are various options: direct screwing with the adapter and window frame reinforcement or fixing directly to the top brickwork with a special solution for maintenance from the inside or at the bottom for concealed roller shutter boxes. If required, newly developed steel brackets are also still available, which can be easily integrated when the box is being installed or also later after installation.
A new feature with split boxes is the possibility of placing the steel shaft through the centre bearing and, consequently, through the complete box. This means that the problem of having different slit positions on roller shutter panels is a thing of the past. With 3-part elements, the motors can also be mounted directly on the centre bearing. The centre bearing can be maintained from inside or, with a new building, also at the bottom.
With the new concealed solution, the box can be plastered over. Instead of baseboards, a special mesh is applied to the profile in the factory that can be plastered over – this does away with the additional work when installing boxes and the narrow installation depth remains intact.
High demands for thermal insulation and soundproofing are easily fulfilled through the use of compact insulation inserts. The thermal insulation values of the basic solution are below the statutory specification of 0.85 W/m²K, while the concealed roller shutter version size II has a peak value of 0.66 W/m²K. The gaskets on the console and between the profiles also reduce noise from outside.
With just three standard sizes, PROtex 2.0 offers a high degree of flexibility for all types of window and building regulations – also in terms of visual appeal: With its modern and bold design and the wide range of colours the system can be integrated perfectly into the existing house design. Size 1 is 176 x 190 mm, the medium version is 211 x 230 mm and size 3 is 250 x 260 mm. A deeper box at 330 mm is also available for lift and sliding doors. The system rounds off additional solutions for Venetian blinds and outside maintenance.
