SecuSignal® – Just open and closed is a thing of the past
Open? Tilted? Closed? The SecuSignal® radio window handle from HOPPE can be used primarily as a sensor component in a smart home system. As such, it reports the position of a house's windows to a central control unit. For one thing, this saves lengthy checks before leaving a building but it can also improve the automatic control of heating, lighting, shading, etc.
No battery required
It is important in a smart home system that all the sensors and controls can communicate with each other. SecuSignal® radio window handles from HOPPE work with the EnOcean radio standard. Not only does this ensure smooth communication, it also has another advantage: the EnOcean radio technology works without the need for any batteries! So the chore of changing batteries is a thing of the past: the information is transmitted maintenance-free, reliably and with no electromagnetic pollution. It can be incorporated into all smart home systems that are compatible with EnOcean.
How does SecuSignal® work?
Commissioning a SecuSignal® radio window handle is remarkably easy and takes just a few minutes: first the handle is set – this works differently for each system but it is described in great detail by the respective manufacturer. In principle, the SecuSignal® radio window handle is registered, detected, then integrated into the system as one of many other components.
If a SecuSignal® radio window handle is turned to the opening or tilting position, electrical energy is generated which is used to transmit a radio signal – to an EnOcean-compatible receiver that can process the information. A circuit board is integrated into the rosette of the handle to this end, along with a small antenna, which acts as a transmitter. The radio signal can be transmitted to a display unit that shows the user the position of the windows. If the signal is incorporated into a smart home system, the information can play a major role in improving automated processes.
A smart home system can be controlled either from a central computer unit or with mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets. This enables the position of the windows at home to be monitored remotely.
EnOcean technology
EnOcean technology is built on miniaturised energy converters, extremely energy-saving electronics and reliable radio technology. Standardised sensor profiles also allow devices from other manufacturers to communicate with each other and work together in one system. For more information, please visit www.enocean.com.
The SecuSignal® radio set for lift/slide doors
Lift/slide doors, too, can be monitored conveniently with the SecuSignal® system. To this end, a special SecuSignal® lift/slide door handle is combined with a battery-free window/door contact with a solar-powered energy cell.
Usual HOPPE quality
SecuSignal® radio window handles from HOPPE are very easy to install. Thanks to the adjustable spindle – a patented solution to bridge different installation depths in the window profile – there is generally no problem replacing a window handle without a radio function with a SecuSignal® radio window handle. The Secustik® technology integrated as standard also offers basic security against break-ins. Like all HOPPE brand hardware, SecuSignal® radio window handles are high-quality products manufactured in Europe.
