EControl-Glas, based in Plauen, Saxony, has been producing and developing adaptive glass for over ten years. Thanks to many years of experience in research and development, the team of 60 is far ahead of the competition. The product is constantly being further developed and is oriented towards the requirements and needs of the market. With the second generation of smart glass, we are laying the foundation for the networked solutions of the future.
Currently, smart home solutions are increasingly coming into focus – among other things, burglary protection is planned. “We are right on the outside of the building: that gives us an enormous number of possibilities”, says managing director Tobias John.
Smart energy management is already setting new standards in full integration for intelligent buildings.
A new type of indoor climate
Experience a new kind of indoor climate with our new ec | smart glass | 2. With the adaptive glazing of EControl-Glas from Plauen, the solar energy input at the façade is reduced. An electrochromic process allows the light and heat permeability of the smart glasses to be continuously adjusted according to the solar radiation and the season. At the same time – in contrast to conventional shading systems – the free view outside can be guaranteed at all times. By reducing the heat input, the indoor climate is also noticeably improved. Thus, the ec | smart glass | 2 is more than just a simple sun protection.
The process can be controlled manually or fully automatically via temperature and brightness sensors – an important and forward-looking component for smart energy management on the façade.
