The requirements for windows used as facade elements are becoming more and more exacting. As well as the aesthetic demands on modern facades, planning needs to take account of aspects such as security, ventilation functions, and heavy sash weights.
As specialist in every facade opening method Gretsch-Unitas combines products from its established product range with innovative special components designed for one-off projects with specific customer requirements.
For the diamond-shaped, motor-driven Parallel-Projecting windows in the facade of the Musée d'Ethnographie in Geneva, the Parallel-Projecting friction stays were specially developed and produced as innovative engineering service in a special version. The framed window sashes of the museum with a size of 1250 x 4200 mm and a weight of 110 kg feature a retracting distance of 200 mm.
A frameless window emerged as a result of further development: the patent-protected profile construction with reduced number of components increases the design scope. When closed, the window is fully integrated into the facade. With a mullion width of 60 mm, large formats up to 1500 x 4000 mm with a sash weight of 400 kg can be realized. This window will be shown at the exhibition stand of Gretsch-Unitas Group.
