GfS, a specialist for security devices at emergency exits, developed a unique and elegant push bar, which integrates the control function for the emergency exits. A European Patent for the GfS e-Bar® is pending. The e-Bar® assures a fast and trouble-free opening as well as the permanent supervision of the panic door. The eye-catching illumination of the e-Bar® (red/green LED “Emergency Exit Secured”) and its mounting at half-height of the door enable people to find the emergency exit easily and quickly even in case of a strong production of smoke. While pressing against the e-Bar® a visual and acoustic alarm is activated indicating the possibility of an abusive use of the panic door. The e-Bar® offers two alarm levels:
While slightly pressing the e-Bar® a visual (red LED light) and acoustic (95dBA/1m) pre-alarm is activated, which expires, as soon as the GfS e-Bar ® is released. This pre-alarm prevents users from abusively leaving through the panic door, because the flashing light and acoustic alarm discourages from passing. The panic door remains closed.
When pushing the e-Bar® completely it is possible to leave the building through the panic door. Doing this a visual (green LED light) and a permanent acoustic alarm is activated which only can be switched off by an authorized person who is deactivating the system with the integrated key switch. Afterwards the device is activated again by turning the key further.
The functionality of the e-Bar® can be adapted to various customer requirements. For example, via a floating contact the alarm signal can be transmitted to a central alarm system. Both battery operated and cabled devices are offered. Besides, in combination with an electric lock the e-Bar® can operate as a release component and signaller simultaneously. Due to its elegant design, the superior finishing of the stainless steel surfaces and its problem-free mounting a decision in favour of the e-Bar® is easily to take.
