How does it work?
With the lock position the EEDG-P secures the panic bar but in case of an emergency the door can be opened easily. While pressing down the panic bar the EEDG-P moves down vertically. At the same time a permanent signal is emitted and people can pass the panic door. The only way to reset the EEDG-P to its protective position and to stop the alarm is with key. For permanent use the system is disactivated with the key of the EEDG-P. It is possible to open the door once without triggering the alarm. This is done by unlocking the door's catch lock with the key. It is advisible to install the EEDG-P on the opposite side of the door lock.
Because of the cover fastening (without screws) the EEDG-P is protected from sabotage. The device can optionally be ordered with a so called pre-alarm-function. As soon as the panic bar touches the EEDG-P housing the pre-alarm is triggered which warns against unauthorized use. It stops when the panic bar is released.
Furthermore an optional battery surveillance unit or an automatic alarm switch off function can be obtained. These systems are especially suitable for shopping centres, hotels, hospitals, admininistration and other public buildings.
