UL is expanding with three new laboratories in Europe to support European manufacturers with the market access to Europe, Asia, the Middle East and America. The new laboratories include the Door & Hardware Testing Laboratory in the UK (ul.com/door-and-hardware-lab) for the mechanical testing of door fittings, the fire protection laboratory in Germany (ul.com/FireTestingEurope) as well as the recently opened Security Center of Excellence in Frankfurt, Germany (ul.com/security-lab) with security product testing facilities.
European manufacturers can test and certify the worldwide fire resistance standards in our fire protection laboratory in the heart of Europe. The UL laboratory offers tests for fire behavior, fire/smoke resistance, fire propagation, flammability and much more. In addition, the fire protection door standard EN 16034 can be tested for CE marking.
UL’s state-of-the-art testing facility in Warrington, UK, is specialised in mechanical testing to verify safety, security and performance of doorsets, windows and building hardware. Testing services also include burglar resistance, durability, impact resistance, mechanical strength, weather resistance and more.
All three laboratories perform UL testing according to EN and UL standards, allowing customers to obtain the CE marking as well as the UL safety mark within a single process. UL utilizes research and standards to continually meet ever-evolving safety needs, as well as to cultivate new certification programs and aid in the development of critical codes that will address emerging risks and innovation within the life safety and security industry.
