LogiKal - CAD

LogiKal^® is equipped with an internal CAD which stands out due to easy and user-friendly handling. The clear arrangement of all relevant functions makes LogiKal^® CAD match ideally the requirements of architectural profile constructions.

Drawing of construction foils, sheet metals, insulations, guide lines etc. can be actualised easily and quickly by the LogiKal^® CAD. Drawing objects can be selected and edited anytime. Automatically assigned labels alter associatively.

Common used drawings may be organised in blocks. Changes are performed in the block management and automatically updated at all places within the whole drawing. Drawing objects may be placed on different layers.

DWG and DXF files can be imported smoothly in LogiKal^® CAD. As a matter of course existing drawings can be saved as DWG and DXF files, too. Furthermore the formats BMP, JPEG, EMF, PS and ZIP are available.

It is possible to access external CAD programs like e.g. AutoCAD by an interface.

In addition to all basic drawing functions LogiKal^® CAD provides very special functions, too. If you generate for instance whole cross section drawings of profile combinations including glass a wizard will support the input of all essential details e.g. system, glazing bead variant, inserts, glass thickness, base elements and insertion profiles. Sections of curtain wall profile configurations are easily and quickly created by a wizard. Among the system and the profiles you are also able to select the type and the angle of a folding here. A standard item generator allows you to draw screws, steel beams and timber profiles quickly. Cross sections of individual positions are imported into CAD by the cross section module.

Use the possibility to display job plans and assembly lists as drawings, too. Determine by the aid of well arranged dialogues which information shall be shown in the drawing.

Cross Section Drawings
You are able to generate cross section drawings of all positions entered in LogiKal^®. These represent true-to-life pictures of the applied positions.

Foldings, step glass constructions, insulated glass units etc. are displayed true-to-detail. The sections may either be printed directly or edited again in LogiKal^® CAD.

Provided in DXF or DWG format you can import the section drawings in other CAD systems like e.g. AutoCAD. The export of bitmap and vector formats such as BMP, JPG and EMF is possible, too.

LogiKal - CNC

Bar Drawings an Machinings
During the element input LogiKal^® automatically calculates the machinings for hardware, connections, notches etc. The figured machinings are displayed true-to-scale on the bar drawings. The data can be directly transferred to a CNC machining centre by the modules CNC or CNC with Cutting.

Almost all CNC machining centres can be controlled by LogiKal^®., furthermore CNC machining centres which can be controlled by NCX. The program recognises the collision contours and tools of a machine and creates a complete tool and orientation assignment if the interface allows a tool allocation.

All tools are checked for collisions with the profiles under consideration of shaft and tool holder. Thus LogiKal^® allows the creation of collision-free machining files (tool-profile-collision). If a profile cannot be machined in one clamp orientation completely the program splits up the machinings in different clamp orientations. The CNC module provides files for CNC machining centres which machine already cut profiles. The CNC with Cutting module provides files for CNC machining centres which machine and cut profiles.

Cut Optimisation
All profiles within a job are distributed among the bars so that the wastage is reduced to a minimum. A picture shows the profile orientation on the saw and the order of the individual lengths to be cut. It is possible to apply residual lengths from stock here. The program calculates the most favourable special lengths. Different length ranges can be distributed among different special lengths in such a way that multiple special lengths per profile are available. A barcode which can be printed on labels is assigned to each profile (see also paragraph CNC). If your job contains profiles split up in shells and insulators a connection list will be added to the printout.

Sägesteuerung
LogiKal^® writes saw control files for all common double mitre saws which are able to import data. The results of the cut optimisation are considered here.The data may be transferred to the saw by floppy disk, by USB drive or directly by network if applicable. Beside cutting dimensions and angles the control files include also barcode information which make a later identification on the CNC machine possible.

LogiKal - Basic Version

The conversational software LogiKal^® matches perfectly the requirements of aluminium and steel window, door and curtain wall construction in matters of configuration, functionality and menu navigation. LogiKal® is the complete service package for architectural profile constructions and features all you need in the metal-working business.

The clearly arranged user interface of LogiKal^® enables every user to learn the handling of the software quickly. Enter easily windows, doors, curtain walls, shopfront elements, sliding doors and folding systems in the Input of Elements. Determine step by step the properties of each element. You are guided through the whole construction process by the software in order to make sure that no detail is missing.

Design an element geometry in no time and select the insertions, profiles, hardware items, glass panes, connection variants, gasket frames and colours in compliance with the requirements of your customer. It is possible to determine directly all properties during the input process in detail. LogiKal^® checks automatically in the background whether your inputs are technically reasonable.

LogiKal^® provides all important information on different printouts. The layout of all hardcopies can be customised by various setup possibilities. Decide yourself which information shall be display on the printouts. Determine for instance whether whole jobs, phases or only selected positions shall be put on view. Combine positions of different jobs and summarise those on a single printout.

Depending on the printouts you are able to edit these either in the LogiKal^®-embedded word processor or directly in Microsoft Word or Excel. Thanks to LogiKal^®’s direct interface to Microsoft Office products this happens fully automatic and saves the time for switching manually from one program to another. The rtf-format is used to transfer to other word processors.

Almost all CNC machines and double mitre saws can be controlled by LogiKal^®.

Close cooperation with suppliers of PPS/ERP software, conservatory programs, 3D-construction software and CNC programs provides a perfectly interacting software environment in your company.

LogiKal - Structural Analysis

With the aid of the statics module you are able to setup the parameters for a preliminary structural design according to EN 1991-1-4 so that they match with the given conditions. The standards of various countries are already available in the LogiKal^® database.

Wind loads can either be determined manually or calculated automatically by LogiKal^®. Depending on country-specific standards wind zones and corresponding terrain categories are selectable. A wind load map supports your orientation and helps to allocate areas. If the wind load is already known or given by wind tunnel tests then you can also enter the value directly.

Individually setup statics parameters may be saved as defaults and called up anytime.

Beam Statics
LogiKal^®’s beam statics module figures the required moment of inertia (Ix) for each individual mullion and transom. The program considers vertically installed window, door and curtain wall elements under horizontal load (wind).

In windows and doors mullions as well as transoms are always applied as single span beams. For curtain wall mullions however the number of spans and their dimensions are arbitrary. They are defined by the input of intermediate supports.

Glass Statics
All common glass types like e.g. float glass, cast glass, toughened safety glass (TSG), semi-tempered glass (STG) and laminated safety glass (LSG) are available during input. Based on the wind load the current stress and deflection values of each individual glass pane are calculated. The results are checked in compliance with the corresponding national glass standards. If applicable climatic loads evoked by season-depending pressure differences in insulated glass units may be considered, too. The deflection limits are defined by your glass supplier and entered by yourself in LogiKal^®’s limit value form.
