Opaque coatings in individual colours are a big trend with wooden windows. From classic white and modern anthracite to special RAL shades: surface quality and durability are the decisive factors. At the fensterbau/frontale in Nuremberg, Teknos will be presenting a selection of practice-tested coating solutions for opaque structures on domestic and exotic woods. These are based on the water borne impregnation Teknol Aqua 1410-01, which protects the wood from blue stain and wood-destroying fungi. The product is in conformity with EN 599 and has the necessary national approval required by the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR).
In the field of priming, Teknos offers a variety of system products for different requirements and application methods. The flowcoat primer Aquaprimer 2900 possesses outstanding flow and wetting properties, which minimise sanding work and shorten process times. Aquaprimer 3130-00 spray primer / intermediate treatment offers special filling properties enabling wet film thicknesses up to 200 µm. Antistain Aqua 2901 solves the problem of discoloration from bleeding of tannins and is available in spray and flowing versions. Another special primer Teknos offers is the knot sealer Antistain Aqua 5210-00. The product locks discoloration from knot in the coating film and effectively reduces discolouration of the topcoat.
The opaque versions of the water borne coating Aquatop 2600 in gloss grades 5 to 60 are available for the topcoat treatment. This high-grade topcoat provides good UV protection and achieves extremely weather-resistant surfaces in high quality. The product stands out in application thanks to its good levelling and flow properties and high block resistance, which enables quick and safe processing.
Support from the Teknos colour lab is also part of the offer for opaque coating solutions. Specialists on location aid window and door manufacturers with order-related colours according to on-site specifications, as well as in the development of their own colour collections. Upon request, the Teknos colour lab also produces individual colour samples on the customer’s original wood.
