How does it works?
A battery operated Panic Bar Alarm is mounted above the panic bar. Because the unit is battery operated, no wiring is required and the installation is fast and easy. The operator has the choice between two inscriptions: either "STOP" with a red background or "ALARM" with a green background. The aim of the new inscription is to generate an anticipated inhibition threshold which discourages the misuse of the door.
It is installed on the door leave either with screws or special adhesive strips. The trigger angle has to be fastened with a red fastening clip which has to be pulled so far apart that it is situated underneath the panic bar. When the panic bar is pushed down the red fastening clip breaks and triggers an audible alarm signal of 85 dB / 1 m. The alarm can only be switched off by an authorized person. It gets reactivated when a new red fastening clip is pushed in.
Furthermore a pre-alarm is set off even when the panic bar is only slightly pushed. This pre-alarm stops as soon as grasp of the bar is relinquished. Only when the panic bar is fully pushed down the red fastening clip breaks and a permanent alarm is emitted. A built in battery supervisory unit gives off an alarm sound when the battery must be replaced. It is possible to relay the alarm with radio technology.
