Flat packers are important to install windows professionally, as they are designed in cooperation with window manufacturers often for the specific window profile to work safely over its guaranteed period.
The design, hardness and compatibility of packers is key to performance of their designed role. The construction of the packer and it’s compatibility with the rest of the frame materials is important that is why our materials are tested and developed with window system designers and are manufactured from prime materials, to exacting hardness and dimensional tolerances.
Location is also key and they should be used a minimum of 30mm from the frame corners.
But what does the packer do?
As support blocks they carry the load of the glazed unit and spread that into the base frame profile.
As location blocks they ensure the glazed unit is plumb and square to the frame and are used in certain window types as support blocks to hinge and locking points.
They increase security around fixing points to prevent the deflection of the frame extrusion. Flat packers are designed to work with bridge packers to maintain drainage and ventilation in the window frame rebate.
Flat packers are also used to toe and heel glazed units, doors, bi fold and patio door sets.

Glazpart lead the way in the design and manufacture of Plastic Glazing Accessories for the European fenestration Industry with specialised knowledge in accessory and window ventilation products to suit most needs.
Glazpart led the market with the development of window packers especially those required as setting blocks and wedge packers for the accurate toeing and heeling of glazed units in window frames. This evolved into the development of bridge packers, allowing moisture to drain from inside frames.
Glazpart also offer a full-service design facility for customers individual system component needs from concept and design through to tooling and manufacture. Examples include cill caps, joiners mullion end caps, mechanical joint components and locking wedges, plus many more.
Glazpart also has available its surface foiling capability which is proving to be extremely popular.
Whether its vacuum foiling using Renolit, Hornshuch or other manufactures, Glazpart are the experts in processing complex parts.
If you have very complex geometry on your parts our hydrostatic dripping process allows to the finishing of over 500 patterns as well as unique finishes for the window market.
This is all backed by the specialist spraying capability of plastic parts.
As well as the Glazing Accessories side of the business, Glazpart also offer a specialised Custom Product section that can supply plastic injection mouldings to your specific requirements.
The Glazpart ventilation products are designed around the requirements of the UK and Ireland building regulations, Approved Document F.
However, they may also be able to offer a cost-effective solution for the supply of DIN 1946-6 Ventilation and air conditioning – Part 6: Ventilation for residential buildings – General requirements, requirements for measuring, performance and labelling, delivery/acceptance (certification) and maintenance.
Glazpart trickle ventilation offers the potential to supply background, cross ventilation and air flow rate needed for moisture protection. The vents provide externally and internally mounted air transfer devices with air flow, through or over the window frame. No need to fit costly air transfer devices through the building envelope.
We offer a range of product designs with a wide range of colours available from RAL number to linear wrapped foil matches.
